Representing Workers and Businesses

Eric Tilton

Eric S. Tilton is a well-respected employment and civil rights litigator, representing both employees and management on labor and constitutional matters. Eric also represents civilians who have been denied their right to free speech, their right to due process of law, and their right to equal protection of the law. Eric has handled hundreds of matters on behalf of his clients, gaining successful victories in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Eastern and Southern District of New York District Courts, and the courts of the State of New York. Eric has also advocated before the United States Supreme Court.

In 2015, Eric partnered with Josh Beldner to launch Tilton Beldner LLP. Eric was previously a solo practitioner and principal attorney at Eric S. Tilton, P.L.L.C. Prior to that, Eric was an associate at a well-known civil rights and employment discrimination firm in Nassau County, New York. Eric is a 2006 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law where he served as an Associate Editor on the Hofstra Law Review, a publication in which his Note was selected among a competitive group for publication, “Business Necessity and Hostile Work Environment: An Evolutionary Step Forward for Title VII.” During his time at Hofstra, he was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to intern for the Honorable Sandra J. Feuerstein, United States District Judge in the Eastern District of New York.

Eric resides in Suffolk County, New York, with his wife (and their two dogs), and enjoys her support in all of his endeavors. As a well-grounded, native Long-Islander, Eric is keenly aware of the needs of local businesses and employees residing on Long Island and in the New York metropolitan area, enabling him to often service his clients more efficiently and effectively than some of the “big city” firms, which often shuffle the client around from attorney to attorney with little consistency throughout the course of the representation. At Tilton Beldner, however, you will be dealing directly with Eric on a regular basis.

Eric is currently admitted to practice before all of the courts in New York State, the United States Supreme Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the local federal courts in our area, including the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, and Northern Districts of New York. Eric is also a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
